There are probably quite a few cheap fridge freezers to chose from nowadays but when you are looking for something for your home there are certain things you need to make sure of. The fact is that you should be able to balance your desire to save on your purchase with saving after your purchase. For instance an energy efficient fridge will probably be slightly more expensive than the not so energy efficient one but you can expect to save hundreds of dollars a year on energy costs.

The first thing you need to program into yourself when choosing cheap fridge freezers is that you are going to purchase something of good quality. There are some features that you should definitely pay for such as energy efficiency. But often manufacturers will cut corners in order to save money so that the fridge / freezers are cheap. Quality compromises usually account for poor build quality, energy consumption and noise. However, having said that not all cheap fridges are made equally and if you look around you are bound to find something with the right balance of features and cost effectiveness.

Things which you need to look out for are efficient compressor installations, good hinges, and thick insulating materials. The better these things are the more expensive the fridge is going to be, but if you purchase a fridge of medium quality i.e. good hinges, a compressor of around 50% efficiency and medium insulation the fridge shouldn’t cost very much and you will end up saving a few bucks each month on energy costs.

Seasonal sales
Many people may not know this but a few months into summer and you can expect to see the latest offerings from most manufacturers. While the only thing that changes in them is just the design it often means that last year’s products are rendered obsolete which means that you can pick them up at around a 30% discount. These cheap fridge freezers will not only be good but probably even every bit as good as the latest one minus a few features, something which many of us can live without.
